It's always great to get away, I remember that when mine were small and it seems like yesterday.
Victor and Marla recently went to watch Notre Dame play a home game with Jill and Darrin. We kept the kids here at our house and really had a good time. Our weekend began with me heading down to Elm St. and spending the early part of the day with the girls while lil Victor was in school. We came back to our house and Papa left work a little early to go and greet Victor at Our Lady and bring him home to me. It was very nice and that way I didn't have to wake the girls up from their naps. We had a fun time here at the house that evening and just spending time together is something that they love...me too.
Saturday we promised that all good lil kids would make a trip to the famous, "Chuck E Cheese!" Now that is something they love! We had a great time there and Nana joined us for Pizza and fun. Well, she and Victor took it all in stride. It's quite the "crazy" place if you ask me but the kids love it and that's all that matters. We took lots of good pix as you will see.
Sunday was the adventure that began the "adventure", aka...(storm) that we have all been on for a while now. We started out with Mass at St. Anthony's and Meredith, Joe and Sam joined us..it was great! The kids were all so good. We left church to some very unusal weather. As we approached Jeff to go to the Elks for lunch and the wind really started to pick up. The rest is history! I can't remember a storm this bad since the 74' tornado. Victor and Marla returned safely from South Bend only to find a home without electricty and trees down everywhere! We have all survived and spent many days together. Our house here on Oakmont was the first to restore power in our family. Meredith and Joe are still without and hanging out here until it returns. It's been fun having them around.Life is good....Stay tuned, we're moving!

The Loss of a dear friend.

On July 3 a dear, dear friend of ours, Chips Cronen returned to Heaven. He will be missed. We pray and ask for prayers for his wife Barbra and sons.
I came across this scripture that seems to be appropriate for Chips, it reads from Ephesians 6: 16-18
"At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the evil one. And accepting salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occassion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for God's people."

This is just one thought that gives "light" to the life of Chips Cronen. He was truly a prayer warrior. I've counted on his prayers many times and will continue to do so..
