True Holiday Spirit!

Well, today I had a very "close moment" as we call it within the Cursillo Community.
I kept Sam today for Joe and Meredith. After his morning nap I decided to run a few errands and take him on a surprise visit to Nana's.
He looked so cute in his snuggly coat and that beautiful smile~!!
As we "rolled" in to Westminster he was the bright spot on the faces of many in the lobby. Most importantly as we went in Nana's apartment unexpectedly the smile on her face was priceless. She was so happy to see her baby Sam and even more excited to hear him say, "Nan, Nan, Nan, Nana"
As I try and wind up this crazy madness that seems to lose meaning, I realized today it doesn't take much to make someone happy. The smile from a sweet innocent baby and the true delight from the receiver who has so much wisdom.
I'm living Christmas everyday.....Life is Good!

Pray for baby Abigail, please

I really wish that I did not have this to report. Our sweet lil Abigail is in Kosair Childrens hospital. She is just 2 weeks old and has contracted the ugly RSV virus. They are keeping her in the hospital to monitor her breathing.
Like that isn't enough, poor Victor and Marla have the other two kids home sick too.
They all went to the pediatrition this morning and the reports were not to good.
Victor, age 4 has a touch of pneumonia, bronchitis and an ear infection. Maddie has the same.
These are part of the tough and challenging times of parenting. I remember them well.
I always felt like my world had stopped when our kids were sick. Lord knows we had our share too.
This is tough watching these little ones so sick. I wish there were something more I could do. Abigail is so beautiful and so sweet. She needs prayer and the other little ones too.
Praying all are well for Christmas!

Abigail has arrived!!!!

Our latest addition to the family, Abigail Lally made her debut on Nov. 3 at 1:46A.M.
We are so blessed and she is of course, as the little kids say, "adorable".
She weighed in at 8lbs and 7oz. and was 21 1/2 in. long. Marla did a great job and gave 1 good push and out she came. The doctor and nurses were truly amazed as we all were.
We have tried to help out as much as we can with the little ones. They love their new sister but need some attention too. Marla is tired and needs rest so if we can help a bit we are trying.
I can't think of anything that is more rewarding than having grandchildren. Victor and I when we are not with the kids, all we do is talk about all 4 of them!
I will try and post pix as soon as I can. I need Meredith or Joe to help refresh my memory on getting pix from my camera to this computer.
Happy Thanksgiving to all....I know that I am truly blessed and could not want for 1 thing in my life...I have it all. I've won the lottery 4 times already! It doesn't get any better.

Day Out for Mom's...

It's hard to believe that my baby is 29 and a mother! It seems like yesterday that I was pushing her around in a stroller.
It's Saturday, Oct.6, and Meredith and I went with our good friends Gwen and Emily to the St. James Art Festival. Believe it or not, it was in the high 90's....very humid! We began our day at IHop for breakfast and Danielle joined us. She had to go to class and could not spend the afternoon with us. We finished a good breakfast and headed over the River. The crowd was huge! Although we did not have the "find" of the day, we did get the cutest Christmas ornaments.
It was nice to spend time together with the girls and just hang out. We are blessed to have such good friends and now what a joy to watch them as mom's.
We returned home to find Sam waking up from a good, long nap and happy to see us.
He was ready for his mom to hold him and nurse.
Another day for the memory books and greatful that we recognize the blessings that we have.
Maybe next year it will be cooler! Looking forward to sweatshirt weather and colorful leaves.

A Little R and R for Mamo and Papa!

Hey All,
Came down to sunny Fla. last Sat.. to spend some "quality time" with my hubby.
We've had a good time just hanging out and doing not a lot of anything. We did go into Daytona as we always do to eat and went to Mass at St. Pauls....what a treat. The music there was awesome. Flute, piano and my favorite, the cello. We walked in to the beautiful Bascillica to the heavenly sounds of Amazing Grace. We had a very awesome experience, lit a few candles for special intentions and then off to dinner. We ate at Carraba's and oh, not good for my diet! We had a nice quiet evening, back to the condo to rest and enjoy the rest of the weekend
I'll be ready to get home on Thursday to see my babies. I can't help it, they are addicting! I miss them. Marla and the kids are picking me up at the airport and Meredith and Sam are coming over to have lunch with us at my house. Should be lots of fun.
Victor starts his first day of preschool tomorrow....I can't believe it. sure hope he has a good time. I'm eager to see him in this setting. He tells everyone that he is going to his new school, "Lady"......(Our Lady of Perpetual Help) How sweet.

Chips Goes Home

It's been a very long and emotional day. A day that I will never forget. The church was absolutly packed...what a tribute to you Chips and how many lives you have touched throughout your life.
I've reflected these past few days on many conversations and times together. No doubt that your friendship and witness just makes me want to strive with all that I have to be a better Christian person.
You would always say when asked how you were doing, "Just one more day closer to the Kingdom dear", well, no doubt you have been welcomed into the Kingdom with open arms.
As the song goes Chips.....Thank you for giving to the Lord, because in doing so you gave to me and many, many others.
I'll miss you dear friend and promise to watch out for your family. We all know how many times you've watched out for ours.
Say "hello" to my sweet, sweet daddy and hug him for me. We WILL all be together again some day not so far off in the future.....until then...Peace
Love,
Christy

Baby Sam is how the kids fondly refer to their new cousin..they are getting lots of practice for their newest addition

The Loss of a dear friend.

On July 3 a dear, dear friend of ours, Chips Cronen returned to Heaven. He will be missed. We pray and ask for prayers for his wife Barbra and sons.
I came across this scripture that seems to be appropriate for Chips, it reads from Ephesians 6: 16-18
"At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the evil one. And accepting salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occassion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for God's people."

This is just one thought that gives "light" to the life of Chips Cronen. He was truly a prayer warrior. I've counted on his prayers many times and will continue to do so..
