Joe, Sam and Miss.....Fun, fun fun.

Victor so proud of his costume made by Jan.

Happy Halloween to all! Do I have the cutest grandchildren or what!!!? Tonight was so much fun.

We began the night like we have every year at Jan's. We began with a pitch in for dinner and everything was delicious. The kids were so ready and excited to go out and get their goodies.

We had a wonderful walk, with perfect weather (thank you Lord) with people that we love. I was especially happy that Papa Victor was home to enjoy this with us and he said that he did.

Jan has recently had foot surgery and she was a real trooper with all of the excitement. She had a very handsome chauffuer I must say wheeling her around the neighborhood. Very sweet.

Enjoy my pix and as lil Victor said several times this evening, "Happy Halloween and have a safe Halloween." He's learning a lot in kindergarten.:)

Just saying, "Hi"

This is something that I really look forward to, posting and reading all of the blogs of friends and family.
I'm here in Fla.. I left home last Monday and have had a good rest. Such a good rest that when Victor and I were scheduled to leave on Friday I, with some encouragement from my hubby, decided to stay here a bit longer. I had to think about it for a few minutes.Really, I surprised myself by saying "yes" and thought that it was a good idea. Good idea for a little more rest but today I have found myself missing everyone. How do people get along without family and friends. Thank God that I do not have that problem.
It's almost election day....tonight Victor and I were invited to Tom and Angie Hayes house to say the Rosary with the Rosary cell that meets regularly. I'm so h appy that Victor went and he rode with Bobby Cox. I asked them to mention my intentions and that I would being saying the rosary here, which I did. It was such a special time for me as I prayed on our balcony and marveled at God's awesome power and blessings. Please pray, please think long and hard as you cast your vote and remember as we say in the Cursillo movement....."Christ is counting on you" and we respond, "And I on Him"
It is our responsibility as citizens and Christians to vote....Remember Nov.4th!
Signing off, just wanted to say "hi."
Life is good.

Bath time...one of many good ones

Nana playing with Sam
Sam and Nonie...love this one too
Guess who makes Nana sooooo happy!
Sam "getting ready" for bed. The infamous dog show!

It doesn't take long to get back in the swing of things. Victor and Marla moved this weekend and we had Sam here with us while Meredith and Joe were on their Powers fall trip.

We had a good time with Sam....such a good time for him that he didn't want to miss a trick which led to not a lot of sleep. Really, I think it was just that this new place is just as different for the kids as it is for us.

Sam was busy with lots of visitor's. Thursday night Sonie, Rebecca and Anne came over and stayed for quite a while. Nana even spent the night with us..Sam LOVED IT!!!

Friday we were busy with Papa and just hangin' out. We went over to visit the Beeler's on Oakmont and Sam had a good time with his cousins.

Saturday we had a good time as well. We ate dinner at Bob Evans and then made a visit to Bass Pro so Sam could see the fish...wish I hadn't forgot my camera. He wore out pretty quick and we didn't think we'd make it back in time before he fell asleep. He did. We changed clothes, got him settled in bed and I thought, ahhhh.. quiet time. It was for a while. We watched SNL and I went to bed, guess who woke up? I guess I'll finish this thought by saying we had a slumber party. Yeah, he wanted to sing, watch movies, eat, laugh, play with toys and cuddle. Well he did give out around 5 a.m... He slept in till around 10:00.

These are memories too....I've taken lots of pix as you can see. The Powers are home renewed and had some well deserved couple time..Victor and Marla are settled on Oakmont.I took a long two hour nap and I'm ready to go again.... to Fla. that is with my hubby.
Life is good.

PS Thanks Gran for all of your nursing expertise and helping with the dressing changes for Sam.

He loves his Gran, Nana and Nonie....I'm so blessed.

Just being with Mamo

Sister's just cookin'
What a blessing that they have each other.
"Caught ya Miss Lally peeking around the corner
"I like your chair too Papa!"

Today the girls stayed with me while Marla tried to do a little more at the "new" house. Moving day for them will begin on Friday. Thank you Lord that moving for me is OVER....at least for a year or so.:)

The girls had a good time here and I'll be happy when they have become a little more adjusted to the new place and can rest better here.

Vic went to Our Lady to pick up lil Victor so Marla did not have to stop and break her stride. On the way, he picked up Nana so she could go with him and see him at dismissal. She was thrilled to see him and even happier that he was elated to see her. They came back here and joined us to wait for Marla and then we ventured out to Cracker Barrel for dinner. Maybe after I return from Fla. for a some much needed r. and r. I can get into some fall cooking.

Enjoy the pix and stay tuned for Samuel Joseph as he arrives Thurs.. Joe and Meredith are doing their annual fall Powers trip. My time IS COMING!!!!

Just kidding.....I love my babies, I'm just getting old!

Life is good.

Just GREAT!

Lazy Sunday morning before church

Yesterday we ventured out to Indy for the day, a big day, to visit Directbuy and try and get things started for our new house. We began with breakfast out and then headed up to Indy. It was a beautiful drive and a good time to catch up, especially when your apart as much as we are.

The visit at Directbuy was good and Gary the kitchen design guy was big help to get started. He is a professional in the area of cabinetry and gave us lots of good ideas. Not sure still what type of cabinets we will have. Spent a good amount of time there checking out windows, doors, etc.. I'll be spending lots of time in Indy within the next year. At least D.B. is near the Keystone Crossing and we did a bit of shopping. That is always a good thing. We bought one of our first big pieces for the new house. A coffee table. We were in a store called Restoration Hardware and I loved it! Thank goodness so did Papa. He loves to shop. We had dinner at a very nice steak place, Sullivans. We had tried it before and loved it. Just fun and good food.

Returned home here in NEW ALABANY, (still sounds funny to me) and went to bed. A long but good day.

This morning Papa was kicking back in his new recliner, (Oh I forgot we bought this for the new house too) maybe it's because I'm not a real fan for recliners) anyhow, he looks pretty comfy here don't you think Joe?

Life is good.

How Sweet....from Sweetie

I love roses.
Feeling a little down.....

After Sam and I returned from our walk about the new neighborhood we saw a strange van in my drive. A very nice lady came delivering me flowers! Yes, my sweetie just trying to let me know as the card read, "I appreciate all you do"

Thanks Sweetie. A great ending to a happy day. I miss you and as you can see they are lovely.

See you soon. Love you

A Happy Thursday!!

" Checking out your new chair Vic!!"
After bathtime story..He's paying close attention
Mom just "chillin"
Such a happy boy!
How sweet in his Halloween p.j.'s

Had the kiddo's at different times today and it was a good day. I began my morning down on Elm St. with the Beeler girls. Marla went to Oakmont to strip wallpaper and I spent some good time with the girls. After Abigail woke from her morning nap and we had lunch we ventured out in downtown New Albany. I was craving a fountian diet coke,(imagine that)so we strolled towards Rally's on Spring St.. It was a beautiful day and the walk was great. We stopped to look at many things. We then proceeded to Walgreens for well deserved prize's. Maddie spotted sparkled purple shoes and we got Abigail a book. They were happy....especially Maddie when I surprised her with a pkg of M.M's after we left! We then went over to a very cute second hand store and found a few treasures. The girls were so good and we ran into Mommy on the way home.

I left Elm St. to return back to Jeff to pick up my baby Sam. He was thrilled to see me to say the least! That would flip anyone's heart. He and I drove out here to the "new place" and had a great time. We began with an adventure around the neighborhood. We are still discovering things and meeting people. He loved the ride in the stroller. We returned and I had a very hungry boy on my hands. I had put chicken in the crock pot when I left this morning and made some mac and cheese for him. Mom and Joe were coming later and Meredith when she got out of class at IUS. I heard an early, "hi Mom," as Meredith's class was cancelled. She was happy and Sam was thrilled to see his Mama.

We had a great dinner, fun and Joe reprogramed our garage door openers..A great day...

Life is good.

"Rainy" Day Wednesday

Always a smile for Mamo...what a doll
The new kitchen....same table:)....same sweet babies
I love Abigail!!! Here is some "real sunshine"

No doubt we all know how much we needed rain. It was good to see it come. This was one of those days when it would have been good to curl up on the couch and take it easy. Or would it have been?

I'll admit, it seems as though the gloomy weather can get me down. Was it the weather today or just a little homesick? Maybe a bit of both. It's hard to leave a place, home, where you've been for so long. I'm sure it will take a while to get used to the new place. Thank goodness that I have so much to keep me busy. Today Victor was a wonderful "distraction!" I picked him up from school and it was GREAT to see him and spend time with him. We spent a lot of time outside checking out the new neighborhood before Marla and the girls came by to get him. They all hung out for a while and it was good.

Tomorrow I will pick up Sam for Meredith at the sitters and bring him back here while she is in class at IUS. Later in the evening she'll come back here to pick him up and I'll have dinner for all of us. Joe is picking up mom on his way home from work. Should be a nice evening.

Thank God for family and people who love you when your feeling just a little down.

Enjoy my pix of my precious babies. What a wonderful world.

Again, thanks Lord for the rain. Life is good.
This story I read will touch your heart, it did mine and made me think how greatful I'am to have ALL of the babies that I have in my life.
There was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentlelman's yard, climbed onto his lap and just sat there.
When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

The Loss of a dear friend.

On July 3 a dear, dear friend of ours, Chips Cronen returned to Heaven. He will be missed. We pray and ask for prayers for his wife Barbra and sons.
I came across this scripture that seems to be appropriate for Chips, it reads from Ephesians 6: 16-18
"At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the evil one. And accepting salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occassion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for God's people."

This is just one thought that gives "light" to the life of Chips Cronen. He was truly a prayer warrior. I've counted on his prayers many times and will continue to do so..
