Spending time with Sam

Sam loves to get my phone
Getting a little sleepy.....(maybe)
Kissing Elmo and Big Bird.....too sweet
"Mamo, you don't need these towels folded"
Loves music!!

Loves diet coke, imagine that!!!!!

Meredith has been very busy this summer with classes and of course getting ready to go back to school. I can't believe it's already that time again....I'm sure she can't either.

Anyway, I've had some fun days with Sam this week and also he spent the evening with me tonight while they went to a baby shower and then on to a wedding of a high school friend.

Since Papa is in Fla. I've had fun spending time with the kids. Tonight Sam and I picked up Nana, took her to dinner at Bob Evans and then on to Target, one of her favorite places to shop. We stayed for a while but then Sam let us know that it was time to get moving. He loves Nana!!!

Returned back here at the house, played a bit and then started the routine of trying to get him to sleep. These pix show all of the different things that he loves to do. His toys, books, my diet coke (imagine that) playing the piano, hiding from me and unfolding my folded towels!!!!

Wish you guys could have spent the night but I know he does better in his own bed. Hope the cough does not turn into something worse. We had a great time!!!!!

It's hard to believe that our little "Maddie Sparkles" is three. What a doll and so smart. She had a Princess Birthday theme and Marla did an awesome job. The cake turned out great as you will see from my pix. Everyone there had such a good time and enjoyed celebrating with our special little girl. We love you Maddie and hope you had a special day.

Happy 4th of July from Fla...!

Just wanted to say "Happy 4th" to all. We have been here in Fla. for about 2 weeks now and getting ready to head home. It's been great! We have done sooooo much. Sonie also came and spent 3 days with Me, Victor, Mom, Meredith and Sam. It was great to have her here.
We started out our time together here with a WONDERFUL spa day! The"girls" went and had a Swedish hot stones massage....talk about relaxing! Meredith and Sonie got into the pool at the spa with their wine. Nana and I sat inside with our drinks just takin' it easy.
We then wandered down the main drag to the beach side tavern and had more drinks and lunch.
We made it back for Papa to go back to work.....he stayed here to be with Sam.
Beach time and pool time are always fun and relaxing too. Did a bit of shopping and then, sorry to say, Sonie headed back to Ky.
Meredith and I took the day to Orlando to Sea World. OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!! Sam was in another world!!! He most likely thought he was back at the Louisville Zoo, but hey, "different animals" here.
We started out there with breakfast with Elmo and friends. He loved every character, except Bert. He gave all of them hugs and even a kiss to Elmo. Later in the afternoon we headed over to the main aquarium to see the big Killer Whale show, Shamu. It was totally awesome! I was disappointed when it was over. O.K., all of you who know that I am not the biggest animal lover, yes, I did love this show. After a long and very HOT day we headed back to New Smyrna. Nana was here for the day by herself and did fine. Victor came home early to check on her and we made several calls throughout the day.
We've been to many of our favorite restaurants, grilled out, watched movies, prayed, shopped, and did I say a drink or two? All in all, it has been such good fun together. I will miss Sam so much when I return home and then back here again for a while with the Beeler clan. Sam has stuck to Meredith like glue here. I believe it is his age and just a phase he is going through. Every now and then he remembers, "ok, it's Mamo, she's ok" and let's me play with him or take him in the car with me. Mama's boy for sure!
Tonight we ended our day watching the fireworks from the beach on our bedroom balcony. I've never seen a baby be so excited about the fireworks. He came in and gave us all kisses goodnight and off to bed. Tomorrow we will be busy getting the place clean and getting ready to head home. I know that Joe is just dying to see Sam and Meredith. It's been tough for him. We miss you Joe. We will have fun together here after Christmas.
Wish I had pix to post but I walked out and left my camera at home....silly. Meredith will post pix on her blog when she gets back.
Happy 4th!!!! Thank you Lord for our freedom.

The Loss of a dear friend.

On July 3 a dear, dear friend of ours, Chips Cronen returned to Heaven. He will be missed. We pray and ask for prayers for his wife Barbra and sons.
I came across this scripture that seems to be appropriate for Chips, it reads from Ephesians 6: 16-18
"At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the evil one. And accepting salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occassion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for God's people."

This is just one thought that gives "light" to the life of Chips Cronen. He was truly a prayer warrior. I've counted on his prayers many times and will continue to do so..
