True Holiday Spirit!

Well, today I had a very "close moment" as we call it within the Cursillo Community.
I kept Sam today for Joe and Meredith. After his morning nap I decided to run a few errands and take him on a surprise visit to Nana's.
He looked so cute in his snuggly coat and that beautiful smile~!!
As we "rolled" in to Westminster he was the bright spot on the faces of many in the lobby. Most importantly as we went in Nana's apartment unexpectedly the smile on her face was priceless. She was so happy to see her baby Sam and even more excited to hear him say, "Nan, Nan, Nan, Nana"
As I try and wind up this crazy madness that seems to lose meaning, I realized today it doesn't take much to make someone happy. The smile from a sweet innocent baby and the true delight from the receiver who has so much wisdom.
I'm living Christmas everyday.....Life is Good!

Pray for baby Abigail, please

I really wish that I did not have this to report. Our sweet lil Abigail is in Kosair Childrens hospital. She is just 2 weeks old and has contracted the ugly RSV virus. They are keeping her in the hospital to monitor her breathing.
Like that isn't enough, poor Victor and Marla have the other two kids home sick too.
They all went to the pediatrition this morning and the reports were not to good.
Victor, age 4 has a touch of pneumonia, bronchitis and an ear infection. Maddie has the same.
These are part of the tough and challenging times of parenting. I remember them well.
I always felt like my world had stopped when our kids were sick. Lord knows we had our share too.
This is tough watching these little ones so sick. I wish there were something more I could do. Abigail is so beautiful and so sweet. She needs prayer and the other little ones too.
Praying all are well for Christmas!

Baby Sam is how the kids fondly refer to their new cousin..they are getting lots of practice for their newest addition

The Loss of a dear friend.

On July 3 a dear, dear friend of ours, Chips Cronen returned to Heaven. He will be missed. We pray and ask for prayers for his wife Barbra and sons.
I came across this scripture that seems to be appropriate for Chips, it reads from Ephesians 6: 16-18
"At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the evil one. And accepting salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occassion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for God's people."

This is just one thought that gives "light" to the life of Chips Cronen. He was truly a prayer warrior. I've counted on his prayers many times and will continue to do so..
