Mamo in Charge....now that's scary!!!!

I arrived here at the Beeler house Thursday morning early as Victor and Marla "jet set" off to Chicago! They had a nice get away planned with Larry and Michele Richards.
My first challenge was to get Victor off to school on time...that was a flash from the past!
Victor was good enough to plan ahead for me with Paul Chapman( Lilly, his daughter is in Victor's class) so Victor could walk into school with them. It was a great idea so I did not have to get the girls out of the car. This is Victor's first year of school. He is in Kindergarten at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in New Albany. I can't believe it. I told Papa that it seems like yesterday that I was doing this for our kids. Where does the time go....all of you Mom's out there, I know that there are many tough days out there, take it from a Mamo, enjoy them, they will be gone all too fast.
We had a good day at the house. The girls were fun and full of energy!! We headed out around 1:30 to take Nana to the doctor and they were WONDERFUL!!!! I tried to get them both to lay down a bit before we left... I think it helped. Everyone at the doctor's office were commenting on how good and how cute they are.
We ran some errands for Nana and then went off to pick up Victor at Gran's (my sister Anne)
She was kind enough to pick up Victor at school. I was concerned that we would not be back in time for his dismissal.
Needless to say, when we arrived at Gran's house he didn't want to leave. Gran came carrying him out on her hip and he was all smiles. I was thrilled for her! They came home around 6, much to Victor's dismay. Anne said he was very clear that he wanted to stay with her. She convinced him to leave with a trip to Target!!! That works every time. They came home with all sorts of things, books, puzzles and snacks. Thank you Anne so much, you saved the day!!! These kids love you so much and I'm blessed to be able to share them with you.
We made it this morning again to school in "record time"... Paul was not there yet so we had time to talk a bit. Victor was concerned if there would be a fire drill again today. Yesterday that was a point in the day that he did not like. Just from our conversation, he had an adult, teacher or aide, who was very sympathetic with him. That means a lot to a Mamo and parents too.
Anyway, we are picking Nana up from the beauty shop today. Sonie is taking her for us as Barry is still pretty sick. This has been a good two days with the kids....I've forgotten how much there is to do!!!!! My mom always says, "Now you know why God made young mothers," that is soooo true.. I'm just plain ole' greatful at this point in my life to be blessed to be a Mamo. I'll not forget to leave my camera plugged in my computer! I taking the kids to Jan's house later today. She is keeping them until Mommy and Daddy return. More pix after I return from Fla. with a little R and R with my hubby!

DEAD BATTERY!!!!

Just when I thought that I was going to take some fantastic pix of Sam, I realized that my camera was dead...FYI, don't leave your camera plugged into your computer.. I did and that drained my battery!!!
I'm leaving for Fla. soon and wanted to spend some time with the kids. I picked up Sam at his sitter's house around 10:30 and we had a great day. We made our first stop at McDonalds and on to Mamo's house. We had a nice snooze together. Later in the afternoon, when I thought I'd get some good pix, that is when I realized that my camera was dead. We went outside and played. Sam loves the Mr. Magoo car I call it. We then took a long ride in the stroller looking at many things. It was time to go and get Missy. Everyone was hungry so we ate out and did a little shopping. All in all it was a great day. I had such fun with Sam. He is such a happy lil guy. I'll miss you doll.

A Flash from the Past

My little man
Me and my lil boy....he was happy to see me
What a happy family....Cherish these moments
Victor and Mrs. Hammond. One of the teachers
All business....just like someone else I know.
This cute lil girl is Lilly Chapman. She went to preschool with Victor Mom and Dad, both a little misty eyed My "superhero"...not spidey, Victor

Well, my first sweet, sweet grandchild Victor started kindergarten today...I can't believe it! I told Papa Beeler that it seems like yesterday that we were doing the same thing...where does the time go? Too fast.

As you will see by my pix, Victor looked like a doll today. He was ready but maybe a little apprehensive. The tears came from not him but mommy. Marla and Victor did a great job hiding their emotions from him and appeared to be very happy and excited....they are too, I guess you could call it bittersweet. I understand. We left after the teacher announced "It's time to say goodbye, Mom and Dad." I then went over to Mass at Our Lady and had a few "misty eyed" moments myself. God is so good! I've always called Victor my saving grace as he was born just 5 days before my dad passed. Oh how that helped.

I know that it won't be long that Maddie, Sam and Abigail will soon be filing in behind him and beginning their first day. This is all tooooooo exciting for me as a Mamo.

Most likely there are a few other lil miracles up there in Heaven just waiting to join our clan. Enjoy my pix and Victor, Mamo and Papa love you very much and hope you had a Super Day!!!!!

It's hard to believe that my husband of 36 years just turned 57!!! Yes,you can do the math and know that we were very young (too young) to get married. Anyway, we have celebrated many birthdays together and they just get better.
Friday night we had the kids come over for dinner and fun since his birthday was the 4th and we were in Fla.. Mom came and Sonie too. It was lots of fun. We had a great dinner and lots of laughs afterwards.
Enjoy the pix....Hope your birthday Sweetie was a good one. I like the birthdays that continue on for a week or so!!!!!

Just catching up!!!!!!!!!

What a doll!!!!
Our new prize......June the .ballerina
"I can dance too Mamo"
God's most precious gift!!! Thank you Lord
Off to the Zoo with my new hairdo....

It's good to be away and spending quality time with my hubby but there is a downside to it....I miss everyone. The kids look so big to me when I return, even if it is only a week.

The older two are at the age when just visiting me is not enough....."I want to stay with you Mamo," and I love it.

Just trying to divide time between each of them is a challenge and then the "task" of leaving the other behind. I know, it's a learning experience, but hey, I'm a grandma. The younger two, Sam and Abigail are right behind and of course their nights will come soon.

Here are some pix I took with Maddie. We went to dinner with Mom, Miss and Sam and then off to Target for a "prize." She had such a good time and was VERY GOOD. We came home to snuggle, kiss and pray together. This morning after bath she even let me put piggy tales in her hair!!!!!!! After some real bargaining.....I put a piggy tale in my hair too. The things that Grandma's will do.

I love you Maddie.

Baby Sam is how the kids fondly refer to their new cousin..they are getting lots of practice for their newest addition

The Loss of a dear friend.

On July 3 a dear, dear friend of ours, Chips Cronen returned to Heaven. He will be missed. We pray and ask for prayers for his wife Barbra and sons.
I came across this scripture that seems to be appropriate for Chips, it reads from Ephesians 6: 16-18
"At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the evil one. And accepting salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occassion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for God's people."

This is just one thought that gives "light" to the life of Chips Cronen. He was truly a prayer warrior. I've counted on his prayers many times and will continue to do so..
