HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Greetings from COLD Florida!

Oh how can I complain! I'am here in Florida with all of the important people in my life.
Victor decided sometime ago that he thought it would be such an awesome trip to have he and I start the New Year here in New Smyrna, with the kids, (all of them) and Mom.
We made our plans and here we are. It's hard to believe that Christmas has already come and gone again. All and all, it was a good holiday. I tried to focus on the Spirit of it all but sometimes it gets tough. I'm sure many of you will agree.
It was great to get here to the WARM weather the day after Christmas and even swim with the kids. Mom went to the pool too. The kids were so cute and totally fearless.
We rang in the New Year with fun and games. We had some "special treats" and lots of laughs. We played, Scene It and it was lots of fun. The "boys" won thanks to Joe.
New Years Day we got together again at the new condo, (mom, victor and I are staying down the street at the "old place") for football games and a big dinner. We had Papa's famous bread dressing, turkey, ham, green beans, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, shrimp, and lots of great pie! Needless to say, there was just about anything you could want to eat. We had a few more drinks, sat outside on our patio around the fire. Yes, you read that right, it's cold! We lit our fireplace outside and sat out with blankets on the patio.
The three of us headed back to the "old condo" late and got some shut eye. A very fun day.
The weather is supposed to improve as the week goes on. I sure hope so as Joe, Meredith and Sam will be heading back by the week end.
It's great to be here with family. It's a nice getaway for me from time to time but I really miss everyone while I'm gone. This is the best.
Happy New Year all and I will try and post new pix when I can.Papa hopes to make this another Beeler tradition. Sounds great to me~

Baby Sam is how the kids fondly refer to their new cousin..they are getting lots of practice for their newest addition

The Loss of a dear friend.

On July 3 a dear, dear friend of ours, Chips Cronen returned to Heaven. He will be missed. We pray and ask for prayers for his wife Barbra and sons.
I came across this scripture that seems to be appropriate for Chips, it reads from Ephesians 6: 16-18
"At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the evil one. And accepting salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occassion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for God's people."

This is just one thought that gives "light" to the life of Chips Cronen. He was truly a prayer warrior. I've counted on his prayers many times and will continue to do so..
