So, it's been a while....

"Mamo, I can't believe that you think everything I do is funny!"
"I love to make you laugh and laugh with you"
"I need to get serious, is my yogurt almost gone?"
Have been away a bit and it is always so wonderful to be here with the kids.

Meredith came over this evening to use the printer and Sam came too. He was hungry so he had an assortment of foods! Peanut butter and jelly, green beans (one of his favorites) pop tarts and yogurt. He likes to feed himself and that's a good thing but look at the fun he had. After the game of dropping food on the floor and I wasn't much help by laughing, we then stripped him down and in the sink he went. Oh the things we do for grandchildren that I would not have thought was so funny with my own. It's so much more fun this way.

Happy to be home!!!!! Enjoy the pix. Sam is getting bigger and bigger and smarter and smarter...."Wheeeee" is something else he likes to say and laugh with. A new word or gesture just about everyday. What can I say, the child is brilliant!!!!!!!!

What a Day!!!!!!

Mama said there would be days like this!
No doubt you've all heard this a time or two. Today started out a normal beautiful day. Lil Victor spent the night with me and we had to get up early to go to the doctor today for his 5 year old well check up. Abigail was getting a well check too. I told Marla that I would not mind going with her to help with Maddie and Abigail. It's a good thing I did. It's tough with three.....need I say more.
Left the doctor's office (glowing healthy reports, Thank you Lord) to go and have lunch with cousins, Mary Jane and Susie. Anne could not make it. We sat outside at Buckheads enjoying the sunshine, river and a laugh or two. I left to make a stop at St. Anthony's cemetery . Today is Daddy's 5 year anniversary of his passing. I told my friend Gwen that there are some days that it seems like yesterday and today it seems like an eternity since I've seen him. It was a very tough day. I know for certain that it's our loss but Heaven's gain.
I met Meredith and Sam at mom's around dinner time and mom seemed to be doing pretty good. Meredith brought her a beautiful flower from her yard. She always brightens up when she is with the little kids. They love her.
We got a very scary call from Marla and Victor! I man driving drunk and high on drugs ran into Marla's parked car on their street. Marla's car then pushed Victor's call all the way up the street hitting a house to stop it. We are all sooooooo greatful that no one was hurt. Victor had just got out of his car less than 2 mins before it happened. Oh the power of the Lord and our Guardian Angels. No doubt in my mind my dad interceeded someway somehow. Offer a prayer of thanksgiving.
Sam spent the night only to go home at 4:45A.M.!!!!! Yes, that's right 4:45..he went to bed around 9:30 and was very tired. He and Meredith spent the day at the zoo with Tonya and kids, Marla and the kids. They all had such a good time. Around 1:10 A.M. I hear, "Mama, Mama." I tried to do what Meredith does and not talk too much to him and tried to wait him out a bit. No way! At 2:30--3:00 we were reading books, drinking more milk. watching Fox News and Sam was getting restless. I decided to take him home because I have to watch the Beeler crew at 8:00A.M......I should be in bed but I can't sleep.
Anyway, he laughed and played with my cell phone all the way home. He was thrilled to see Mama and DaDa.......Sorry guys. Guess you can't predict the sleeping pattern of a 16 month old.
We'll try again.
Better get some "shut eye" as lil Victor calls it!

My baby boy, Victor
Slooooooow down Mamo....it's almost impossible to believe that my 1st grandchild is 5 today. Yes, Victor Samuel Beeler turned five today. Victor was born 6 days before my dad passed. It seems like yesterday to me he was born and yet it seems like an eternity that I have seen my dad. I miss him terribly. No doubt in my mind he would have been just as wonderful as a great grandfather as he was grandfather (Pop). Papa Beeler is doing a great job and daddy would be proud. I've always thought of lil Victor as my "saving Grace." God was so good to send him to our family when He did. He is such a blessing to all of us. Here are some of the pix taken tonight at Vic and Marla's. They had Victor and I and Mamo Jam for dinner and cake. Tomorrow is the BIG CELEBRATION with other family members and friends. Check in again later for more pix and see how blessed they are with such a loving family and so many friends.
Happy Birthday Doll, I love you so much.

Mamo's Sleepover with Maddie

Maddie with her new baby.
I think it's time for bathtime.
"Ilove my new baby"
"I feel so much better after my bath"
"O.K. Mamo, enough of the pix..." It was time to read.
Picked up Maddie at Keeta's on Wednesday around lunch and was she ever happy to see me!!! The smile and the hugs were worth a million. We left and had lunch with Uncle Joe, Aunt Missy and baby Sam. We then came back to Mamo's to have a welcome nap. Maddie slept so good and so did Mamo. After that we went shopping to look for "prizes" something that Mamo's love to do. Check out the beautiful baby that Maddie picked out. Came back to Mamo's to have dinner, playtime, bath, books read and then my favorite, "snuggle time"......on the downside, Maddie came down with pink eye while she was here. She was a big girl and let me put the drops in. When we woke this morning her poor little eyes looked pretty bad. We had a picnic breakfast at McDonalds, (so Mamo could get her "morning fix", aka, diet coke) in my car!

Only to return home and see Mommy, Victor and baby Abigail. Maddie had a wonderful time and Mamo too. She said, "I'll miss you"...talk about melting your heart. Nothing like the grandchildren.

What a great way to spend Mother's Day. Abigail was baptized today. She looked absolutely beautiful! Fr. Eric at Our Lady of Perpetual Help is the pastor and did a beautiful job.

Michael and Brittany were the God parents and were so proud. Abigail was so good and did not make a peep.....that's Abigail.

There was a nice crowd of family and friends and went to Vic and Marla's afterwards for a nice lunch. God is so good.

Enjoy the pix.

Meredith and Sam...Saturday morning coming to pick up Sam.
"Let's get ready for Fla.."

Yes, Meredith turned 30 on the 9th!!!!! It's so hard to believe. Someday she will realize just how quickly the time does fly.

We decided to have a surprise party, well.....try to. The kids had all decided that they would go out and celebrate and we would go out as a family for dinner. The plan was to meet here first, go out and eat and later they would meet up with their friends.

Meredith said as they turned the corner and saw all of the cars, big surprise, she knew something was up.

We had a great time. We kept Sam all night and he was wonderful. He woke up bright eyed and ready to go. Papa and I took him to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and he was so good.

Enjoy the pix. Thanks everyone for coming. Happy Birthday again Miss. We love you

Baby Sam is how the kids fondly refer to their new cousin..they are getting lots of practice for their newest addition

The Loss of a dear friend.

On July 3 a dear, dear friend of ours, Chips Cronen returned to Heaven. He will be missed. We pray and ask for prayers for his wife Barbra and sons.
I came across this scripture that seems to be appropriate for Chips, it reads from Ephesians 6: 16-18
"At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the evil one. And accepting salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occassion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for God's people."

This is just one thought that gives "light" to the life of Chips Cronen. He was truly a prayer warrior. I've counted on his prayers many times and will continue to do so..
