Let Your Light Shine

Sam and Joe stopped in and I happened to find "a new toy" that he just loved to play with! They say it is the simple things in life that makes us happy...I guess that is true. Sam, you are the light of my life!

getting the "Mamo Fix"

Well, we made it home and it sure is great to be home!!!! The snow was just about all gone but seeing the faces of each one of the kids was worth it all. Just to hear, "Mamo!!!!!" is the greatest.
I had a night, and day, with each one of the kids. Just need to have some quality time with "Miss Lally."
Sam and Maddie had a good time with each other from fun in the bathtub to reading books together. Maddie looks like a natural reading to Sam. Who knows, maybe a future teacher here.
Going back to the Sunshine State after Easter. Fun in the sun and having some quality girlfriend time.

STRANDED IN FLORIDA!!!!!! :)

Hey All,
There are many, many who would say....."yippeee!!!!!"
If I didn't have so many people at home that I love and miss I would probably be saying the same thing.
However,as my mom reminds me, I'm blessed to have this time with my hubby. Someone who loves me dearly and just reminded me this trip that, " I can't be spoiled enough!" How many women would love to hear that. I am blessed and although I miss everyone, including the woman who gives me such good advice, I am greatful that we have this time together.
We got up early this morning and Victor's flight was already cancelled. I was to leave at a later time.(free ticket) It was our decision that I stay here rather than try and come and possibly get stuck in an airport. Everything happens for a reason. So with that thinking in mind, I will enjoy my stay and thank God that I have a wonderful family and home to return to.
Enjoy the "white stuff" as my dad fondly referred to it, and I hope I can see a snowman or two when I get in. Even better, build one with the kids.
Love to all and keep warm and safe,
Mamo

Spending the Night with Mamo

Well, I knew that I would be going to Fla. again soon so I'd better take advantage and get some "snuggle time " in. Everyone came over for dinner and Victor and Maddie spent the night. They are so cute to put to bed. Stories, prayers, hugs and kisses are the best!
Sam came this evening but left with a tempature. Meredith says he is cutting more teeth. I will post the pix I took of him tonight, they are too cute!
I need to spend my quality time with Abigail, but I need Papa here to help when I have all three. I just try and do too much when I have everyone. My mom says, "you don't have to do so much entertaining." Funny, I remember someone doing the same thing. I had a great teacher and owe all of my mamo skills to her.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!

Today is Victor and Marla's 8th wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe that it has been 8 years. Where does the time go? The older I get the more I seem to realize how fast these days go by.
I remember how excited we all were on this special day. It was unseasonably warm. I bought myself a new dress coat after Christmas for the occasion and didn't need it.
The celebration was beautiful.Victor and I both were so proud of Vic and were so happy to see him so full of happiness. Marla looked, as my mom put it, "regal."
She too was so happy. Fr. Ron our dear friend did such a beautiful job with the ceremony. We miss him so much. The Spirit was truly present and many guests said they felt the same joy.
Our prayer today is that you both stay close to Jesus and EVERYTHING else will take it's place. That is our promise and prayer for you today.
You've been truly blessed with each other, healthy, beautiful children, and good health. You are truly rich!
We love you both and pray for all of you each and everyday.
Love,
Mamo and Papa

Too Young to Enlist!

Sam does come from a very patriotic backgrounds!
My dad retired as a Col. in the Army National Guard and PaPa Tom Powers is currently back in the Army, serving at Fort Knox. Joe did his service in the Army National Guard too.
Jane and Tom bought Sam his "first Uniform" for his birthday. It is so cute and has his name, Powers on the shirt.
Joe and Sam were visiting with me the other day and needless to say, Sam was a little fussy. I thought this pix said something. Joe liked it. The kids laugh at me because as a typical grandparent when they are fussy my usual coin phrase is, "He's tired".

Happy Valentines Day

What a beautiful arrangement sent to me from my "sweetie"
He always sends something to my mom and her's was similar.
She said,"It looks like Hollywood," Thats the flair of Wayne Esterle from In Bloom Again in Louisville. If you ever want something beautiful and different from the usual, give him a call.
It was a happy day visiting all those that I love. Sure wish my number 1 man could have been home. We will be celebrating Valentines/Anniversary soon in Fla..

Love to all, mamo

The Loss of a dear friend.

On July 3 a dear, dear friend of ours, Chips Cronen returned to Heaven. He will be missed. We pray and ask for prayers for his wife Barbra and sons.
I came across this scripture that seems to be appropriate for Chips, it reads from Ephesians 6: 16-18
"At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the evil one. And accepting salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occassion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for God's people."

This is just one thought that gives "light" to the life of Chips Cronen. He was truly a prayer warrior. I've counted on his prayers many times and will continue to do so..
